Privacy policy and messaging terms
Peacemaker Coalition, Inc. is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation. This page explains what information we collect, what we do with it, and the terms of our text messaging program.
Last updated August 9, 2026
What we collect
We only collect information you give us directly. That means your name, email address, and phone number when you submit a form on this site, subscribe to our updates, contact us, or apply to volunteer or partner with us. If you donate, our payment processor collects the information needed to complete the transaction. We do not see or store full payment card numbers.
Like most websites, our host records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited. We do not use this to identify individuals.
Data sharing
Customer data is not shared with 3rd parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not buy contact lists, and we do not add anyone to our email or text lists who did not ask to be there.
We share information only with service providers who help us operate, such as our email platform, our payment processor and our telephone provider, and only to the extent they need it to perform that service. We may disclose information if we are required to by law.
How we use it
To answer you, to send the updates you signed up for, to process a donation and send a receipt, to coordinate volunteer or partner work, and to keep the records a nonprofit is required to keep.
Peacemaker Coalition messaging terms and conditions
1. The messaging program consists of general conversational messaging to answer questions and provide support. We answer inquiries, confirm scheduling for interviews, shoots and meetings, and follow up on requests you started. We do not send promotional or marketing text messages.
2. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text 'STOP' to the phone number from which you received messages. After you send the SMS message 'STOP' to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
3. If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at info@peacemakercoalition.com.
4. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency will vary based on communication needs. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
6. If you have any questions regarding privacy, please read our privacy policy contained in the rest of this page.
How we get your consent
We text you only if you gave us your mobile number and asked us to be in touch. On our Get Involved page you may enter your mobile number and check a box agreeing to receive text messages. The box is optional, it is never checked in advance, and consent to receive text messages is never a condition of volunteering, donating, or receiving anything from us.
If you subscribe, we send updates roughly once a month. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. We never share your address.
The people in our films
Some of the people we film live in places where being identified would put them or their families at risk. We obtain consent before filming, we withhold names and locations where identification could cause harm, and we obscure faces when a participant asks us to or when our own judgment says we should. We apply the same care to photographs and to anything sent to us by a participant.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@peacemakercoalition.com and we will respond. California residents have additional rights under state privacy law, and we honor those requests from anyone who asks, regardless of where they live.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant and we have your email address, we will tell you.
